So, this plot is one of the oldest plots of the site, from the wee days of when FPP was reborn again in the spring of 2017, in which two toms, Leafshade and Harebreeze, turn from haters to friends... then Leafshade realizes his sexuality and they become lovers.
(I'm going to summarize all the things you need to know here so you don't have to read through every cat's bio. Each cat's bio is much longer than what I'm going to write here...)
(Skip down to Preface of the Plot to read the actual plot content, but the history is extremely important and ties into the plot. It's complicated.)
Meet Rosestorm (alkie ドケヰ ) and Honeydapple (★Dylan ). A pair of Echoclan she-cats who are devoted to one another. Rosestorm was raised by her lesbian mothers in a stable, warm, and happy environment. She is a fiery, confident she-cat who holds her loved ones close and will do anything to protect them. She has a brother.
Honeydapple is a timid, kind cat who has the sweetest heart but a fearful mind. She was born in her parents' second litter, along with her two brothers. First came Heavypelt, a large kit and the largest of the three. Then came Honeydapple and Harebreeze, the twins. "The two kits were identical in looks. The only difference was Harekit was slightly larger than his sister." Heavykit was the brawns, brute strength and lacked wits. Honeykit and Harekit were the brains, brilliant, the exact opposite of Heavykit. And when they became three moons old, their parents had lost interest in the twins, giving all their attention to Heavykit. Their parents saw the two as worthless, and it would get worse during their apprenticeship. "They had spent most of their lives trying to please them and get their attention, their approval. But it seemed like nothing they did worked. And all Heavykit had to do was flash a grin. He was obviously the favorite." So the twins learned to be independent, looking out for each other for the rest of their lives...
Honeypaw was given to Tangledfang, a warrior who was known for being harsh, cold, and cruel. "Just when she thought she was getting a break from the nursery and her parents' disapproval, the worst cat possible became her mentor. It was thought that it would toughen up the sweet and kind little cat, but no one expected it to go as far as it did." However, before the bad times, at the start of her apprenticeship something good happened. Rosepaw was the same age as Honeypaw, and they hit off immediately. "It was as if the two she-cats were born to be best friends. Rosepaw was there for her when no one else was... And their friendship continued on, even in tough times."
Then came Honeypaw's training. Every session was gruesome, but several moons into her training one day, it went too far. "The day had started perfectly, her mother coming up to her and telling her that she would never be the kit she wanted. Following her mother's statement she received a visit from her father, saying she was such a disappointment, she wasn't worth being his kit... Heavypaw had been watching the entire time, trying to hold back laughter. The look in her parent's eyes were so cold and full of hatred. She had done nothing wrong, and only did what she was told..." Then Tangledfang brought Honeypaw out with him to train. Alone.
It seemed to be going well... until Tangledfang went too far. "His massive claws became unsheathed and instead of demonstrating on another object, he used Honeypaw. Blood gushed from the wounds he opened, and she cried out in pain... Tangledfang carried her into camp, said she was attacked by some animal that she had been recklessly chasing, after he had told her to stop... The last voice she heard before she slipped out of consciousness was Rospeaw's voice full of worry." Four sunrises later, Honeypaw woke up with Rosepaw right beside her. "She never knew what it was like to have someone actually want to be near her, other than Harepaw." Her parents never visited her, saying she was foolish for letting anything attack her. Rosepaw and Harepaw were the only cats she told the truth to, that Tangledfang attacked her. It took almost half a moon for her to recover. When she could return to training, the medicine cat said that her training had to be light. "But light to Tangledfang was not what the medicine cat had in mind."
"The process seemed to be the same, training until she was at the point of exhaustion, only to collapse and be brought back. Usually it was Rosepaw or Harepaw that found her, and Rosepaw always defended her against anyone who questioned. Rosepaw was becoming more than just her best friend, and Harepaw was the first to ask when the two planned on becoming actual mates and stop dancing around each other." Honeypaw's whole family disapproved. But the two were perfect for each other. "While Rosepaw was harsh and would bite off others ears, Honeypaw was sweet and gentle, soothing the other she-cat. When Honeypaw was hurt, Rosepaw seemed to feel her pain and refused to leave her best friend's side. The furious she-cat had finally had it with Honeypaw's mentor and confronted the leader. The injuries, plus a few others attested to Tanglefang's behavior and he was banished from the clan. Honeypaw was free."
And so, after Honeypaw caught up on her training, she became a warrior, sharing her ceremony with Rosestorm and Harebreeze, the two cats she loved most. And not long after becoming warriors, Honeydaaple and Rosestorm announced their love for one another to the clan.
Meet Leafshade. A solitary, sensitive, and self-conscious tom. Rosestorm's brother.
The two had drifted since kithood, and Rosestorm hadn't seen him around much during apprenticehood with her new friends. But one night, not long after Honeydapple and Rosestorm professed their love for one another, Leafshade confronted her outside of the camp. "He asked her if she remembered when Heavykit had pinned him down and attacked him for having two mothers, and told her that she was only going to hurt her family even more if she continued to be with Honeydapple. She had told him to shut up, and then he had said a lot of things to her, most of which still echo in her mind now. In her fury she had lashed out at him, scratching his cheek." It would leave a scar on his right cheek. "Giving her one last glare, Leafshade had run back into camp and she hasn't spoken to him since."
---
As kits, Leafshade and Rosestorm were close. They were born into a loving family with two caring mothers. Rosekit tended to stay near Leafkit rather than make friends of her own, and so ended up just playing with Leafkit and his friends. They were the loudest kits in the camp, annoying the older cats of the clan and often had a part in the trouble the kits got into. Leafkit and Rosekit would play together all the time, tell their parents all about their day together, compete together and against one another. So what happened?
While Honey and Harekit stayed away from trouble, Heavykit played out in the camp with the other kits. However, he mostly just wanted to beat up the weaker, younger kits. Rosekit was never a target, as she could give anyone their worth if they tried. Leafkit was not a target either, but he didn't want Heavykit to pick on the others. As a kit, he was confident, not as antisocial as he is now. Leafkit would get into numerous arguments with Heavykit, and it didn't help that Leafkit was small, weak-looking, and not as muscular as Heavykit. These arguments would make Heavykit sour with anger, and slowly but surely he started to target Leafkit specifically instead of the others. It was Heavykit "accidentally" pushing or shoving him, Heavykit going after only him in the games they played, a few scratches or a bruise or maybe getting crushed by a blow or until his weight. At the same time, it was offhand comments about his size, his looks, his strength. Offhand comments about his mothers who Leafkit dearly loved. It just got worse and worse, and none of the other kits did anything. It was like they were oblivious, or they were glad they weren't the ones getting battered. Or maybe as they were growing up they started to hear the whispers of the elders and warriors around Leafkit's parents being the same gender. Leafkit just kept on taking the hits, physical and mental, gradually becoming more fearful, confused, and saddened. It hurt. And it hurt to know that his so-called friends that he played with didn't want to help him like he did for them.
So one day, Leafkit confronted Heavykit about his bullying in front of the other kits. It had turned toxic rapidly, and every kit knew what Leafkit said was right and what Heavykit did was wrong. Some turned their heads down either to avoid Heavykit's eyes, or in shame for letting or liking Heavykit bully Leafkit. Heavykit had stormed off, and Leafkit was alone again. After all that mental exhaustion, he went to join Rosekit in the elders' den, then returned to the nursery after tiring of their stories. No one was inside.
And out of the blue, a force blew him to the ground, knocking the breath out of him. It was Heavykit, and he brought some apprentices with him, Heavykit's older siblings. And for the next several minutes, he was clawed at, suffocated, and thrown about until he had no more strength to struggle. The apprentices knew just how much to beat him up without leaving serious or too many scars and bruises. They made fun of Leafkit, bringing up anything about him that they could insult. Heavykit was so humiliated and angered from earlier that he let Leafkit know that day that it was wrong to have two mothers, that his family were freaks, that everyone hated them. Leafkit just kept on taking the hits, no longer able to fight. Nearing the end of this incident, Rosekit was just coming back from the elders' den and saw what was happened. "As Rosekit drew closer, she heard that they were saying something bad about their parents, saying that it was wrong that they had two mothers and that they were freaks. Despite being shocked to hear this, the kit had leaped out from her spot and given Heavykit a good clawing until he had run away squealing." Leafkit and Rosekit never talked about the incident after that...
During Leafpaw's apprenticeship, Rosepaw left him for her new friends, not realizing Leafpaw's loneliness without her. He had a supportive mentor, but his mentor's company couldn't fill the hole in his heart. Leafpaw avoided Heavypaw throughout his apprenticehood, found it hard to socialize with the other apprentices, and shied away from his mothers. His mind was twisted with negativity, as he believed that the majority of cats only liked to hurt, and it was worse when they were in a group. Despite his depressive state, Leafpaw excelled in his training, the work giving him something to focus on. Soon, he was on his way to becoming a warrior. He had his warrior ceremony earlier than the other apprentices, and felt proud about him for once in a very long time. It looked to be as if things were going to get better. Unfortunately, he shared his ceremony with the one cat he tried to avoid: Heavypaw, now Heavypelt. And so, they had to share their warrior vigil together. Alone. Just them.
It seemed to be going well. Heavypelt stayed a considerate distance away and refused to look at him. However, nearing the end of it, Heavypelt broke the silence and tried to engage in conversation. Heavypelt's sarcastic little comments turned into insults, which Leafshade ignored. Then it turned into taunts. And one taunt about Leafshade's mothers made the other tom snap. In his anger, Leafshade jumped Heavypelt. But instead of shedding blood, Leafshade insulted him back, saying Heavypelt only put down others to make himself feel better. It was that many apprentices thought of Heavypelt, but no one in his right mind would tell the tom that upfront. Immediately, Leafshade felt guilty, and seeing the horrified look in Heavypelt's eyes, he let him go. However, Heavypelt lashed out in Leafshade's stupor, a claw catching the spot behind Leafshade's right ear. Heavypelt almost ripped it off, but knew better than to do that during a vigil. It would leave a scar, but Leafshade would hide it.
When Leafshade heard his sister had became mates with Honeydapple, a she-cat, he snapped. He could only think about what other cats like Heavypelt would say about and do to their family. It didn't help that Leafshade was also secretly jealous, angered that Rosestorm would choose Heavypelt's siblings over him. That night, for the first time, Leafshade brought up the incident in which Heavypelt had beat him up for having two mothers. He told her that she was only going to hurt her family if she continued to be with Honeydapple. Rosestorm told him he had no idea what she and her mate had gone through. Angered, Leafshade said she had no idea what he had gone through, and that she wasn't even there for him. He told her about the second incident her had with Heavypelt at the vigil, which no one also knew about. Leafshade went on further to insult Rosestorm, applying what Heavypelt had said about his mothers to his sister. He called her a "freak" for choosing a she-cat as her mate. And as soon as he was finished, Leafshade immediately regretted his words. Rosestorm then lashed out his face, and Leafshade had run. They haven't spoken to each other since.
The Preface of the Plot:
After Leafshade and Rosestorm's fight, Leafshade is still extremely guilty about what he said and wants to make up for it. He remembers the bond they shared as kits and feels that he might be throwing away the last of this bond with his sister. He also believes that he disgraced himself for disgracing his mothers. The siblings' fight is also talked about around camp, though the details have been blurred as the Echoclan cats can only speculate.
The day Leafshade musters up the courage to apologize to his sister, he runs into Harebreeze, Honeydapple's brother, trying to find her. Then Harebreeze gets protective when he finds out Leafshade is looking for Rosestorm, and some misunderstanding between them comes up in which Harebreeze doesn't learn that Leafshade is going to apologize to Rosestorm. They argue in front of the whole camp, and the fight gets heated. Leafshade loses it and Harebreeze learns from Leafshade that he is apologizing to Rosestorm. However, as soon as Harebreeze realizes the misunderstanding, Leafshade runs from the humiliation, as the issue betwen him and Rosestorm becomes clear to the whole clan.
And so the plot begins:
Event 1: Harebreeze tries to apologize to Leafshade, but Leafshade avoids him for several days.
Finally, Harebreeze corners him and after they make up, they start talking a little, having a few interactions a day.
Leafshade still hasn't apologized to Rosestorm because he hasn't built up much confidence to after his argument with Harebreeze.
Event 2: Harebreeze finds out Leafshade is embarrassed and helps him muster confidence to apologize. Rosestorm is expecting Leafshade after Leafshade and Harebreeze's argument. Finally, Leafshade apologizes to Rosestorm. Leafshade is no longer scared of Harebreeze, and their relationship cools.
Event 3: Leafshade talks to Rosestorm more, slowly restoring their close bond they had as kits. He also becomes friends with Honeydapple. Through this, sees Harebreeze more and more. Harebreeze tries to befriend him, but gets annoyed that Leafshade won't open up. Harebreeze gradually pries Leafshade open and becomes Leafshade's confident. They grow closer.
Event 4: As Harebreeze and Leafshade become closer, Leafshade finds out he has developing feelings for Harebreeze. When he comes to that realization, he realizes he's homosexual. Leafshade reflects on this and also realizes that he's never been attracted to females.
Leafshade becomes fearful again when he figures out this because of Heavypelt.
A little bit before Leafshade realizes he likes Harebreeze, Harebreeze has already been crushing on him. Harebreeze pines about his crush on Leafshade to Honeydapple and Rosestorm, but Rosestorm and Honeydapple think Leafshade is straight.
*Note: Heavypelt and his older siblings (who beat up Leafshade as a kit) are Harebreeze's siblings and could play a role in Leafshade's relationship with Harebreeze.
And commence the sexual tension (;
So right now, we need a member to adopt Harebreeze, as his previous roleplayer could not be here anymore. His original adoption information is as follows:
"Harebreeze:
13 Moons
Tom
Brother to Honeydapple, and others.
Is the male version of Honeydapple, although he does have more of a backbone. He isn't as quiet as she is, but is still kind and just as brilliant as his sister. Not a fan of his other siblings.
He is very quick and agile, and was given the suffix -breeze for his agileness. He is best at hunting, and not too awful at tracking. But not the best when it comes to fighting.
Harebreeze is Honeydapple's twin, brother, and best friend all in one. They are almost always together and have been through so much together. He was wary of Rosestorm (then paw) at first, but now accepts her and Honey's relationship, and is one of Rosestorm's best friends (other than Honey).
Appearance is the exact same as Honeydapple (honey colored fur with blue eyes), although he is larger than his sister. But no where near the size of their littermate, Heavypelt."
His old app is here, if you need ideas. Though anything not stated in his original adoption description and anything not stated in Honeydapple's history is good to go. Also, Honeydapple's roleplayer, Dylan, is going to be on leave for some time, so Honeydapple won't be around much during this plot until she comes back.
We would want someone who would be committed and dedicated to Harebreeze. As in, someone who loves Hare and would love to keep him forever. Because his previous roleplayer left, the whole plot fell apart. So, if you don't think you'll have a lot of muse for Harebreeze or if he wouldn't be one of your main chars, I suggest to not adopt him.
Also, although not directly involved in this plot, it would be nice if some of the following chars were adopted out:
Hawktuft/Hollyspring/Hazelgaze:
23 Moons
Tom/She-cat/She-cat
Honeydapple's siblings from the first litter.
They are most close with Heavypelt. Don't really interact with Honeydapple and Harebreeze too often. Their personalities are completely up to the adopter.
Born in Violetleaf and Pheasantwing's first litter (Honeydapple and Harebreeze's parents), the three cats had an easy life. They were eager to have younger siblings at first, but really only ever played with Heavykit, as the other two were smaller and they feared they would hurt them.
They helped Heavykit get revenge on Leafkit.
Hawk and Hazel are brown tabbies, or could be brown/white. Holly can either be brown tabby or a ginger tabby. Eye color up to adopter. They are all about average sized.
Tangledfang:
30 Moons +
Tom
Honeydapple's previous mentor.
Extreme, Lethal, Aggressive, Known for roughness. Exiled from EchoClan due to his treatment of Honeypaw. Is currently a rogue. Location is up to adopter. Maybe he joined the Wraths.
Tried to kill his own apprentice and used extremely harsh training methods. Has resentment towards Rosepaw(storm) for exposing him to the leader, and resentment toward Honey for surviving/living to tell the leader of the harsh treatment.
Appearance completely up to adopter.
*on a side note, one of the ideas of Tangledfang was that he was to sexually abuse Honeydapple, but that was scrapped in place of physical abuse. You can really get an idea of how cruel this tom is. There might've been a plot in which Tangledfang comes back to get revenge, but with Honeydapple inactive, that plot will not happen anytime soon.*

And commence the sexual tension (;
